Chapter 46.2

James and Anne Bolton had three children:

  • 45.2.1 – Matilda Bolton (1829-1859)

  • 45.2.2 – James Bolton (1832-1922)
    • Moved back to Kent, England and confused the census collectors, some of whom thought he was from the West Indies, others just wrote “foreign parts”
    • Agricultural labourer
    • Staying with grandparents Morgan in  Lenham nr Maidstone
    • Maidstone is the county town of Kent. My photos are here.

    • Married Sarah E Thomas (1842) in Hollingbourn nr Maidstone in 1861
    • Moved to Snodland nr Tonbridge (my photos of Tonbridge are here), and Ryarsh nr West Malling
    • Children:

      • Ellen Bolton (1866)
      • Frances Pamela Bolton (1876)
