Aston Martin (from 1990)

Aston Martin had long craved stable ownership (with deep pockets) and salvation appeared when Ford bought a majority shareholding in 1987. Initial investment allowed replacement of the venerable V8, but the plan was to extend the range back to its roots in smaller sportscars, but at a greater volume then ever before. Ford ownership lasted until 2007.
